{"id":331,"date":"2012-12-07T17:01:30","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T17:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stanleycolors.com\/fyc\/?p=331"},"modified":"2013-01-07T19:10:15","modified_gmt":"2013-01-07T19:10:15","slug":"on-being-creative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stanleycolors.com\/fyc\/2012\/12\/07\/on-being-creative\/","title":{"rendered":"On being creative."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Creativity. \u00a0This word is immense and often thought of as a magical power we all want. \u00a0Austin Kleon broke it down in this manner&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austinkleon.com\/steal\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"www.steallikeanartist.com\" alt=\"Austin Kleon \" src=\"http:\/\/www.funkyoucreative.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/FYC-steallikeanartist.png\" width=\"346\" height=\"454\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s actually a pretty good estimate of the necessary tools that should be in a creative&#8217;s tool belt. \u00a0Why just the other day, I had the opportunity to practice the last point &#8220;A willingness to look stupid&#8221;. \u00a0Thankfully, my fellow cohorts at FYC laughed only for 15 minutes (not 30) and then we decided to incorporate my lack of knowledge in the Mac world as a weekly learning tool. \u00a0Score one for creativity!<\/p>\n<p>As a design boutique we have been quickly immersed \u00a0(this is where curiosity comes into play) in all things creative. \u00a0Here are some of the best suggestions that we use and we kindly wanted to share them with you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"line-height: 12.987987518310547px;\"><span style=\"color: #cc3388;\">Get out!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 12.987987518310547px;\">Take a walk, go for a team lunch break, ride your skateboard or our favorite one&#8230;feed the meter. \u00a0Sometimes the best way to be creative is to take a break and let your subconscious mind do it&#8217;s thing.<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 12.987987518310547px;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #cc3388;\">Have a drink.<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>We prefer whiskey or tequila. \u00a0It just makes us a little bit more loose. \u00a0Think Mad Men style \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #cc3388;\">Look to others.<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>Imitation is the best flattery. \u00a0Here are some sites that inspire us&#8230;\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Core77\" href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.core77.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Behance\" href=\"http:\/\/www.behance.net\" target=\"_blank\">www.behance.net<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Tutorial Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tutorialblog.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.tutorialblog.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"You the Designer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youthedesigner.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.youthedesigner.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #cc3388;\">Talk about it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Have an idea brewing or problem that needs solving?
