{"id":319,"date":"2012-10-11T18:14:03","date_gmt":"2012-10-11T18:14:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stanleycolors.com\/fyc\/?p=319"},"modified":"2012-12-28T18:16:12","modified_gmt":"2012-12-28T18:16:12","slug":"proposal-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stanleycolors.com\/fyc\/2012\/10\/11\/proposal-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Proposal Time."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FYC just submitted our first large business proposal.<\/p>\n<p>It was scary, but we did it. \u00a0It was like we were in school again working together in the 23rd hour to submit a proposal that could change the path of our little company. \u00a0And we wanted this, so we re-checked &amp; re-edited, called in troops, and then re-read it again! \u00a0Our fingers are still crossed.<\/p>\n<p>We learned a lot in that 24 hour time period. \u00a0We learned that there are important things that you must remember&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Template proposals sound like a good idea, but typically &#8211; NOT. \u00a0Successful ones\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0tailor each proposal to each prospective client to make sure their specific needs and objectives are met. \u00a0This shows you care enough to take time out for them now. \u00a0And this equates to caring for them when you win the bid later.<\/li>\n<li>Share your\u00a0<strong>STRENGTH<\/strong>. A client wants to be assured that you have the abilities to do the job and &#8220;smash it out of the ballpark&#8221;, if you will. \u00a0Express your ability &amp; expertise in jargon that relates to the project. \u00a0Tell them what\u00a0<em>you uniquely<\/em>\u00a0bring to the table.<\/li>\n<li>Accurately assess what the company needs, and how it can be delivered. \u00a0Do you homework. \u00a0Read about them, at the very least &#8220;google&#8221; them. \u00a0Incorporate what you have learned into your proposal&#8230; for us that meant learning they were launching a new product line &amp; we proposed they beef up their website with a robust CMS program.
